Chapel in the Pines is about Faith.

We are thankful for the gift of Faith handed down to us.  Some of us are lifelong Christians.  Others aren't.  We don't pretend to know all the answers, but we believe we're supposed to ask the questions together, to explore scripture and worship God together, and to serve our neighbors in the name of Jesus.  Our Faith is a lot like Trust, and above all we trust God, who created us, redeemed us in Jesus, sustains us by the Holy Spirit, and loves us more than we dare to imagine.  We think Faith is a journey best walked together.

Chapel in the Pines is a Connectional Church.

By God's grace, we don't exist by ourselves or for ourselves alone.  In life and in death we belong to God, whom alone we worship and serve.  Chapel in the Pines belongs to a family of churches called the Presbyterian Church (USA).  As Presbyterians we share a common history, stretching back to the Protestant Reformation, and a common purpose leading us boldly into the future.  The term "Presbyterian" describes our church's polity, how we organize and govern ourselves.  Joining Presbyterians from the southeastern US, we belong to the Synod of Living Waters, and partnering with Presbyterians throughout central Alabama we are a proud member of the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley.  At the local level, we partner with a wide variety of groups to serve our Birmingham neighbors, and worship annually with other congregations in Bluff Park.

Chapel in the Pines is a Family.

Being a church family doesn't mean we agree on everything, but it does mean we stick together, through the good times and especially through the hard times.  Our Chapel family has a little bit of everyone: kids and babies and teenagers, adults and seniors; married couples and singles.  Some of us live within walking distance.  Others drive across town to get here.  We value them all, and we are always glad to welcome new faces into our Chapel family!

Chapel in the Pines is a Place.

We invite you to come and visit or worship with us at 2269 Chapel Road in Bluff Park, AL.  We're proud of our church. Some say it's their home away from home.  We believe it's a special place where God touches lives, not just on Sundays, but every day.
